Bulk Document Import
Using an excel worksheet with metadata and path to the document(s) non technical users can quickly bulk import documents to OpenText Content Server. Pre flight validation informs users of conflicts such as invalid choice values, null fields in attributes that require a value or overflow of text fields. The user can browse to a target folder, select as many categories and attributes for import and begin the import process.
Unlike object importer that creates exception files and requires some IT assistance to function our Power Tools application is interactive from the users PC to the OT server. Imports are greatly simplified and significantly reduces the chances of import errors that need remediation and interpretation by skilled staff. The Power Tools importer supports multi threading which can be paused and resumed at anytime. The software records the unique identifier from OpenText as each document is imported which can be saved to the local PC for historical purposes.
Import documents with all data fields with user defined multi value delimiter and easily version documents based on repeating metadata values.
Bulk Document Export
Bulk document export capability allows novice users to quickly extract documents from OpenText content server, save files to a local or network location along with all metadata. The user can select a single folder, a root folder and all subfolders or provide a list of IDs for export. The Power Tools OT software will multi thread the export of documents and metadata, then create a manifest file of locations.
